Fine dining is available every evening in the formal dining rooms. Don’t worry, formal dress is not required every night, just slacks and a shirt will do. The dining room has food for everyone and lets you try new things. Besides offing Fish, Steak, Lobster, and Chicken, they have items that you may not have tried such as Escargot, Caviar and Sushi. Go ahead and try it, you have already paid for it. Another thing many people do not know is that you can order as many appetizers, salads, entrées and desserts as you want! Room service is also included in your price.
What about your other meals and choices? The poolside grill is almost always open offering hamburgers, hot-dogs and French Fries. The Pizzeria has Pizza, Calzones, Cesar Salad, and bread sticks available 24 hours per day. There is also a place to get soft-serve Ice Cream and frozen Yogurt.
During lunch you can get a sandwich from the NY style deli. Whether you like them cold or Panini style, they have you covered. Don’t forget about the large salad and dessert bar. On some ships they make stir-fry to order. Or if you prefer you can go eat in the dining room.
Want to sit on your balcony and watch the sunrise? Go ahead, have breakfast delivered to your room. Or you can go out on deck and have an omelet made just for you. There is always fresh fruit and pastries along with cereal and toast available during breakfast.
Most ships have special Steakhouses or dining rooms that have a surcharge, but those prices are listed before entering! There is also a little Bistro Café that sells specialty coffees and deserts. Needless to say, you will not go hungry during your cruise and even the pickiest eaters can find something that they like. Depending on your cruise group size and make-up special diets can be arranged or special seating assignments. But wait, that was just all about the food, there is still more included in your group cruise travel rate.
What about entertainment and on board activities?
There is plenty of that to go around too. During the day you can take a dip in the pool, have fun on the water slide, or go mini-golfing all while listening to the calypso band playing. Pull up a chair and soak up the sun or watch the jumbo TV. Take a walk around the track or go work off all the delicious food in the fitness center. Why not take part in one of the daily activities such as the belly-flop contest, towel folding demonstration or educational seminars.
What happens once the sun goes down? Enjoy an award-winning Vegas style show or you can go have some laughs with the comedian. If you are feeling lucky, try your hand in the casino. There are also several bars and clubs to try out. Or for a relaxed evening, grab a chair and watch a movie on deck on the jumbo TV. There are many meeting areas all around the ship for your cruise group to get together and have a great time.

Will you have kids in your cruise group?
Not to worry, camp is included as well! From younger children though teenagers, they have you covered. Kids get to have their own space with caring counselors to paint, draw, play games and get in the pool. They have special dance parties, talent shows and activities to keep the kids entertained while the adults enjoy themselves as well. Tweens get game consoles, board games, scavenger hunts, dance parties and pool parties. Teen get their own club to hangout anytime of the day or night. They can listen to music, play video games, watch a movie or play some sports.
Who does the tipping your cruise group or the individual?
Each individual is responsible for tipping but do not worry about having money to tip everyone that helps you during your cruise. Your room account will be charged a set amount for tips. Hint - you can go to customer service to change the amount if you feel the need to, it is usually somewhere around $12 per person per day. Your room account is set up before you set foot on the ship. You can use a credit card or cash to link to your room account. You can view your account any time of the day or night from the TV in your cabin. You never have to carry cash, unless going to the Casino or to play Bingo. If you want to purchase an alcoholic drink or a souvenir from the shops, you just show your card and it goes right onto your account. Don’t worry you will always have your card with you as it is also the key to your room,
Another feature I love about cruising over other types of group vacations is that after you bags are delivered to your stateroom you will unpack once. That is it! After taking the 30 minutes it takes to unload all of your luggage, everything is put away for the rest of your trip. When you take other group vacations, you stay in each hotel for a couple of nights which means you either live out of your luggage, or you waste hours of your vacation packing and unpacking.
