Alaska Travel -
experience
Wilderness, Adventure
and History

Alaska Travel is a great family adventure. It combines adventure, history, wilderness and nature in an exciting new environment. Sure you can hike almost anywhere, but only in Alaska can you meet native Alaskan Huskies, walk along a glacier and explore for gold on your hike. When travelling in Alaska you can and will use many different forms of transportation such as: airplanes, helicopters, trains, boats, and dog sleds adding to your unique experience.

Alaska is said to have one of America’s last unspoiled frontiers. Traveling to Alaska with a group will allow you to see snow capped mountain peaks, large icy glaciers and untamed wilderness that you only see on TV. Don’t forget to pack your binoculars as you may have a chance to catch a glimpse of whales, bald eagles, sea otters, bears and seals in their natural environment.

You should think about adding a group cruise onto your Alaska vacation. Heading out on a ship lets you experience glaciers, fjords and icy inlets from a perspective you can’t get on land. You will hopefully see wildlife, mountains and national parks as well. Going during the summer months will not be as cold as you think!

Alaska gives you the opportunity to participate in numerous activities while you are there. You can take time to learn about the Native Indians, get your heart pumping on a hiking, biking or kayaking trip, or take a leisurely stroll on a cultural tour.

An Alaska Travel Group will usually start off in Anchorage or Fairbanks, or if your group is large enough, you can customize your entire experience. Starting off in Anchorage, you will head to Valdez and make some stops along the way in Palmer, Tahneta Pass and Bridal Veil Falls. From Valdez, you will take a cruise on Prince William Sound. From Valdez you will travel through Delta Junction then onto Fairbanks, the sate’s second-largest city. In Fairbanks you can meet Alaskan Huskies and Iditarod mushers to learn about breeding, training and the Iditarod. From Fairbanks, you travel to Denali National Park on the Alaska Railroad. Depending on the length of your trip, you will spend 1-3 days exploring the park. From there you return to Anchorage and say good-bye to Alaska.
