Group Travel Germany

Group Travel Germany holds a special place in my heart as Germany was the destination for my first and second international group travel experience during my teenage years. This page will give you information about different destinations in Germany, how to travel, where to stay and the best time to visit.
There are several different types of groups that travel to Germany:

No matter which group you belong to, Germany will provide a great opportunity to experience what you are looking for.
When should I visit Germany?
The answer to this question depends on what you want to get out of your visit. If you want to experience local culture, interact with German citizens, take part in local festivals then you should plan to visit between May and the first part of October. During this time the weather will be tolerable for outside events. The downside of visiting in the summer is you can encounter frequent rain showers and this is the high season so everything will be busy and full. If you are visiting during the summer, you need to plan ahead so you are not stuck sleeping in the train station.
Germany is also very attractive for winter sports. The Bavarian Alps will get frequent snow and be quite chilly during the winter. Traveling in the winter means not getting to experience as many local festivals and outdoor markets but it does mean lower lodging and airfare prices along with no waits for food or attractions.
My vote is to visit during the late spring, summer or early fall. I love the summer months as you really get a taste of local culture and can count on many unique interactions.
Students
Group Travel Germany is very popular for students and language learners. Most of the time these language learners are students but they most certainly do not have to be. If you are in High School and are studying German, visiting Germany makes everything you have learned about at home come alive.
Students have several options when planning their trip to Germany. Your group can:
1. Go with a large company and tour the country as tourists on a scheduled tour.
2. Contact a group travel organizer
and plan your own tour through Germany staying at youth hostels along the way.
3. Go with a large company that places students in home-stays and stay with a German family for about a month.
4. Work with your language instructor
or group travel organizer
to set up an exchange. You would get a host school in Germany to host your group in home-stay situations for one month and in return they will come stay with you for a month.
Each option has its positives and negatives. Your group needs to decide together which option is best for your entire group.
Language Learners
On my third Group Travel Germany experience, I had the opportunity to take a
language course at the Goethe Institute
in Prien am Chiemsee.
